The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning
A national center focused improving the social and emotional outcomes of young children. Evidence-based, user-friendly information is available to help early childhood educators meet the needs of children with challenging behaviors and mental health challenges. Products include "What Works Briefs" (summaries of effective practices), and five training modules on Promoting Social and Emotional Competence - Building Relationships, Social-Emotional Teaching Strategies, Determining the Meaning of Challenging Behavior, Developing a Behavior Support Plan, Leadership Strategies, and Addressing Challenging Behavior.

Child Care Plus
Focuses on expanded child care options for children with disabilities and their families, and provides training and technical assistance for child care providers and other early childhood professionals. Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System (FDLRS)
Provides diagnostic and instructional support services. Centers collaborate with districts, agencies, communities and other personnel and educational entities, providing education and support for teachers, parents, therapists, school administrators, and students with exceptionalities. Each Center includes specialists in the areas of Child Find, Parent Services, Human Resource Development (HRD), and Technology.

Florida Head Start

National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center (NECTAC)
A program of the FPG Child Development Institute of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, funded through the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education. NECTAC supports the national implementation of the early childhood provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) by strengthening systems at all levels to ensure that children (birth through five) with disabilities and their families receive and benefit from high quality, culturally appropriate and family centered supports and services.

Positive Beginnings: Supporting Young Children with Challenging Behaviors
The Positive Beginning Training Modules are six on-line modules for in-service and pre-service training in the Positive Behavior Support process. They were developed jointly by Florida State University and the University of South Florida through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The modules include: Social and Communication Development, Determining the Meaning of Challenging Behavior, Positive Behavior Interventions and Support, Teaming to Build a Behavior Support Plan, Intervention in Everyday Settings, and Supporting Families.

Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI)
Formerly the Center for Evidence-Based Practice. TACSEI continues to promote evidence-based practices for improving the social-emotional outcomes for young children with, or at risk for, delays or disabilities. The Pyramid Model framework is used as the conceptual model to promote social-emotional competence and address challenging behavior. One product for use in the field is Teaching Tools for Young Children with Challenging Behaviors which was developed to assist teachers in developing a plan to support young children who are having challenging behaviors. Using routines and activities that typically occur in early childhood programs teachers in support plan development.
